Historique :	La maquette du monument aux morts de Laroque d’Olmes (PM09004416) est l’œuvre de Paul Manaut. Elle en porte la signature et la date de 1933. L’œuvre préparatoire figure dans le catalogue du 25e Salon des artistes méridionaux de Toulouse en 1934, sous le n° 301. Cette maquette diffère quelque peu, dans les détails, du monument aux morts. Le sujet de la maquette est une jeune femme représentant la Douleur agenouillée. La jeune femme aux cheveux courts a un genou au sol et l’autre jambe pliée. La jeune femme éplorée a le visage enfoui dans son coude droit et tient une double branche de laurier dans sa main gauche. Le socle de la maquette comprend les dates de la Première Guerre mondiale et le nom de la commune. A noter que « Larroque » s’écrivait avec deux « R » jusqu’aux années 1940, ce qui est le cas ici.
